Above the Misty Mountains

The sheer grandiosity of the house we rented has seemingly put me into a shocked state that first caused massive anxiety coupled with a constant state of awe, then relaxment, then intertwined anxiety, ending with a constricting feeling in my chest as I sit in bed contemplating sleeping or reading more of my book. I love it here! But I do not love this feeling.

I have a couple theories that either individually or combined must be the root of my shocked, overwhelmed state in the face of excitement and happiness.

1st: I haven’t traveled anywhere NEW in 5+ years, so I’m experiencing a truly awesome and unbelievably cool place and I don’t know how to manage.

2nd: I can’t recall ever staying in a mountain home THIS FAR UP a mountain. If I ever did, I was too young to remember. But the treacherous cliffs around this type of house is not one you’d take your kids around.

3rd: This is Will’s and my first time renting a place for ourselves to stay for a week. I still can’t believe I found this amazing place!

Project #2: Turnip Bellbag (a take on Animal Crossing economy)

The Turnip Bellbag project was completed last week. Excuse the blemishes and some deeper than intended crevices, my smoother (rubbing alcohol) wasn’t the correct % to melt the Sculpey enough. The turnip bellbag represents what Animal Crossing profit seems to derive from especially after certain bug spawns have been reduced.

Danielle’s 2D interpretation of the project concept was to create turnip coins. :) Check our work out below!
